VIKTORIA KOVA. MALIN PERSSON. PAUL WIEGMAN.

Viktoria Kova (Vladivostok, 1970), daughter of Russian-Ukrainian parents, spent her early childhood in East Germany. After graduating from the Russian State Institute of Culture (music and cultural studies /pedagogy / psychology), she returned to the USSR and eventually moved to Amsterdam, where in 2002 she developed her DJ/MC-vocalist act and successfully toured worldwide. Through extensive travel, Viktoria came into contact with a diverse audience, a background that inspired her to become a video artist and multi-sensory designer. A key focus of Kova's work is her research into the impact of color, shape, movement, and vibrations on the human brain. In her work, she explores how visual and energetic experiences affect the physical and emotional state of the viewer.

In the paintings of Malin Persson (1978, Sweden), nature and abstraction go hand in hand. She uses dark frames and grids to depict the landscape as seen through a frame or a stained glass window. Her visual language is a translation of landscapes. After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and her residency at the Rijksakademie, Persson won the Royal Award for Modern Painting in 2007.

Paul Wiegman (Groningen, 1962), a self-taught artist who never quite felt at home at the academy, has had a varied career as a graphic artist, draftsman, medical illustrator, and teacher, as well as curator. A versatile artist who, in this exhibition, connects abstraction with observation.

Dreamscapes. Dreams, inner landscapes, melancholy. And also calm in turbulent times. With a twist. A well-organized exhibition in which everyone is free to make their own connections.
